Tamisha’s Closet: The Weekend Re-Cap Edition

Things have been crazy, unorthodox and complete utter chaos around the blog due to my new work schedule. Saturday-Wednesday 3pm-12am. Yes, you read it right. And I’ll be stuck with that shift until at least November. (In my Wyclef Jean voice) I’ll be gone ’til November, lol. But I won’t be neglecting my blog. I’m just trying to adjust to this crazy schedule.  In which I’ve came to the conclusion there is no adjusting. I just have to blog wee hours of the early morning or late into the night. At least I will be in vacation soon off to Fashion Week in New York in September that’s something that makes me smile. And the launching of the online store in September…enough my personal life. Let’s step in my  closet’s as I discuss my random five fashion subjects.

1. Geek’d Up Jewelry

Miss Understood jewelry— Geek’d up line minis the band aid lol

Okay, sooooo I’m obsessed with Geek’d Up Jewelry because it’s one of a kind, unique and represents everything The Urban Class Boutique stands up. And the fact that Rashonda AKA Deeva and I create the pieces doesn’t hurt either #SWAG

2.Tribal Fashion (Miss Understood Jewelry made by yours truly Tamisha Monet)

I’m obsessed with tribal jewelry period. It can transform the simplest looks and swag them the freak out. That creative above is a Miss Understood original I made it myself. My jewelry obsession started when I found myself spending over $200 or more dollars in Forever 21’s jewelry department every other week. I came to the conclusion it would be more chic and cheap if I made it myself. Plus, people always borrow (coughs:steals and never return) my accessories because they’re typically one of a kind. Or either I style  them with jewelry for different events and then Miss Understood was birthed. And we spell it that way purposelly what does it mean to be Miss Understood: unique, epic, rare, one-of-a kind jewelry line: Miss Understood jewelry. When perfect just isn’t enough. Are you fiending for an accessory that caters to your swag, sass, uniqueness and sophistication? Do you want to be MISS-understood? Do you tend to color outside the lines, think outside the box and strut to the beat of your own stiletto then this is the jewelry line for you

3. Academy of Art Univeristy

I LOVE my school because they present me so many opportunities. For example meeting Cathryn Horn, participating in Fashion Week New York and I’m still considered a freshmen. Also, with the fashion and design. They allow you to create and craft as your self. They are not molding you to be couture or high fashion designer. They will teach you how to design to everyone. Plus, even though I live in the Bay Area I work full time. I can still attend school but online. It’s just as much work but it’s so convenient and it keeps me disciplined as I manage my time. LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the Academy AAU Lions. Woooo…..

4. Fashion’s Night Out

FNO excites me because not only will I be there living out the excitement and making history. It’s also for a GREAT cause.  20% of the proceeds go to AIDS Research & Funding.

5. Angel’s Laws of Blogging

Over my ‘weekend’, I was finally able to finish Angel’s Law of Blogging by Angel Laws of ConcreteLoop. I didn’t stall on it because I was un-interested my damn schedule is atrocious. For any blogger seeking a plan and a purpose, this book is a MUST HAVE. She guides you in making your blog popular and PROFITABLE. I’ve supported ConcreteLoop for many, many, years. Her blog is recognized for it’s positivity and originality. Even though it’s a black celebrity gossip blog. Angel and her staff don’t slander anyone. They only report the HAWT content and allow us consumers to voice our opinions. And then there is Angel , the Angel her self. What a gorgeous gal. And her style is out of this galaxy. The only way I can describe it is African Pride, originiality and swag. And she is always dropping knowledge not just in her book but on her personal blog Angel On Fire and her twitter page as well. I learn alot from this young, black, beautiful, intelligent, spiritual, sister. And my favorite thing about her is how she is just willing to go above and beyond to help any and everybody. I didn’t know what area to events where at for Fashion Week and what city to fly into. She found my twitter and gave me the details. After I asked her on her blog. She took her time and went out her way. I was incredibly grateful and thankful. Much love, support and respect to Angel and all of her business ventures. Buy her book on amazon.com, here.
