Keep Calm and Make A Statement With Plume NYC

The next accessory designer in line to take over the throne of the accessory world would be no one other than Pamela Johnston of Plume NYC. Pamela Johnston is the creator of the contemporary, chic, modern; costume and fine jewelry line. Johnston a graduate of the prestigious Parsons School of Design founded the line in 2005.

Plume NYC is primarily carried in the Brooklyn based boutique ‘theBanquet’, where Johnston is the co-owner. Plume NYC has been sold in Bergdorf Goodman, Anthropologie, Albertine and IKO IKO. The classic, innovative line has been featured in publications Elle, Refinery29 and Lucky to name a few.

As if that isn’t reason enough within itself, how often does an independent accessory designer take this industry by its storm in such a manner? Within such a short amount of time, taken into consideration she had no sponsorship? Or not to mention even a major couture house to use as a reference (coughs, crutch)?

Those are the reasons I say the torch will be passed to Plume NYC as the next accessory line in charge; with Pamela Johnston as the pioneer paving the way for other up and coming independent jewelry designers. Personally, I’m inspired by the path Johnston has taken because her career is parallel to my ultimate goals. She’s both a specialty boutique owner and independent jewelry designer whose manage to achieve success in a brand loyal driven industry without compromising her integrity, brand and most importantly being an independent entity.
